Sharing a LF Lens Between Different Cameras

Large format lenses are in most cases self contained with built-in shutter and mounting to use on a wide range of different camera systems.

Personally, my favorite combination is using CCB 617C and either CCB 45PS or 57PS with a shared 90mm lens. 90mm lenses with a good 5x7 coverage are a good choice for lens sharing on 617 and 4x5 formats. Most common choices are f8 and f6.8 versions of Rodenstock Grandagon, Schneider Super Angulon, Fuji and Nikon.

If this shared combo is configured with CCB 612C and CCB 45PS, there's is no need for 5x7 lenses. Smaller 4x5 lenses like Schneider Angulon 90mm f6.8 or similar are more compact and work well on smaller formats.

Using panoramic and LF point and shoot cameras concurrently is providing some great options for the photographer. There are several format aspect ratios available in a very small package. Sharing the lens provides shared matched quality between the formats and offers additional flexibility when using the resulting images. No additional color/contrast matching is needed.
