We're pleased to announce the newest line of cameras with extensive additions and improvements to our existing models and addition of several new options and formats. Composite materials are used throughout offering advanced vibration reduction and longevity. Tactical feel of composite materials of this type is unmatched in this industry with slight but perceptible fine texture improving wear characteristics, grip and esthetics.

All of the test criteria and specifications are the same as the current CCB 617 camera.

These are the additions and upgrades specific to the new CCB 617C and 612C:
1. Interchangeable cones - quick change with small levers
2. Graflok attachment for use on 4x5 LF cameras.
3. Additional cones and pinhole cones
4. Machined M67 and M77 flanges so it's even smoother to move lenses between cameras
5. Sliders for removing the back in one step vs. threaded nuts on the existing model
6. Snap in format masks for 612 and 69
7. Ground glass attachment
8. Pistol grip (this can be used on any cameras)
9. Available for less with Graflok attachment and format masks to be used on LF camera

10. * Significant improvement with laser engraved M65 and M77 helicoids

Helicoids are laser engraved and calibrated with distance scales and hyperfocal markings. There's a customer who uses one of the cameras with great success together with Bosch laser distance meter for short distances.
There's an optical bench almost 4 meters long with targets at 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 3m and 5m and 10m targets in front of the bench.
There's collimator fixture for the bench to collimate lenses to infinity before calibration start. Precision exceeds the requirements of any of the formats.
45mm, 65mm, 75mm, 80mm, 90mm, 105mm, 120mm, 135mm, 150mm, 180mm 210mm, 240mm, 270mm, 300mm and 360mm lenses available on hand for calibration and can provide calibrated helicoids in these focal lengths. Please contact us if your focal length is not on this list.

Materials, Hardware and their design/selection:

Camera bodies and cones are made out engineering grade ABS Glass Fiber on industrial and semi-industrial 3d printers. High grade engineering materials are used for components as needed. ABS-GF was selected for it's excellent mechanical properties, it's at the top of the esthetic properties of any comparable materials and exhibits virtually no warping when printed on adequate semi-industrial and industrial printers. Material was selected after testing more than 20 different materials for suitability and mechanical properties. Very tight tolerances on strength, durability and warping had to be met by the material. Due to the requirements of the material only select machines can produce parts that meet the criteria.

We have the capability to 3d print any available engineering materials including the highest temperature advanced materials like ULTEM and PEEK (they're not useful here as most of them are not black by default unless they have composite fillers and would triple or quadruple the price without any perceptible benefits - would likely impact the quality due to warping). ABS-CF, PET-CF, PA12-CF, PPS-CF, PPA-CF and others are used as needed and where required. Every material has certain applications where it excels due to it's properties.

Years of testing and geometry changes went into the development of these cameras and to be able to make them to meet the required tight specifications for each format.

Hardware is custom machined. There are custom designed M65/M77 two piece adjustable flanges, Sinar F format frame mount compatible T-nuts, Sinar accessory rail compatible T-nuts for mounting cold shoe and other accessories, Arca Swiss dovetail compatible tripod foot for Sinar F.

Tolerances and Specifications:

Both cameras have the specification that exceeds the tolerance of plus/minus 0.07mm (ANSI specification for the same format is plus/minus 0.127mm). Tolerance is measured with assembled camera and between helicoid flange and film gate across the whole format. Specifications of the whole system meet the specifications of Hasselblad V system and similar and will produce the maximum results that mounted lens can provide.

Snap-in format masks will change format as listed:
For 617C they convert it to 6x12 and 6x9 when respective masks are inserted.
For 612C they convert it to 6x9 and 6x6 when respective masks are inserted.
