Replacement focusing snap ring for Hasselblad 100mm CF lens. Ring will only fit this lens. Ring is 3d printed from ABS plastic. ABS is tough engineering plastic with great properties for objects in everyday use.
Unlike original two piece design this is a one piece very solid replacement snap ring.
Two versions available:
1. Wide grip - better grip
2. Original grip configuration - around half of the area is grip and half is smooth
Pictured 100mm CF lens is not included. It's only pictured for illustration purposes.
Instructions for installation:
1. If present existing rubber grip and snap ring have to be removed first. Originally held in place by friction only (Might be glued to the lens by previous owner. Remnants of the glue need to be cleaned first.)
2. There are two different ways to install new replacement ring (fit is very snug, ring will stay in place unless removed). 100mm CF ring is wide and tighter fit than narrower rings on smaller CF lenses.:
a. Replacement snap ring is placed from rear side (without the rear lens cap). With front lens cap mounted, front of the lens is placed in rear edge of the palms on both hands with fingers pulling the snap ring in it's place. It needs to be moved slowly until it's fully seated. It requires relatively significant force to install. This is required for a tight fit. Fit will be significantly better than original focusing snap ring.
b. Lens is placed to stand on the front lens cap on the desk. Ring is placed from the back side of the lens and slowly pushed on with the help of piece of wood or plastic slowly pushing ring down to it's final position. Replacement focusing snap ring needs to be slowly and evenly pushed around diameter a fraction of a millimeter at a time.
