Quick Guide To Using 5x7 inch Camera

5x7 inch format was always a less used format but at the same time it presented a sweet spot between the most popular 4x5 and 8x10 formats. 

The reason for that is very simple. Added bulk to the 5x7 camera is minimal in comparison to its 4x5 counterparts. For a fractional increase in the bulk of the camera, the photographer is rewarded with nearly double the size of the 4x5 film and slightly less than a half of the 8x10 formats. Another advantage of the 5x7 format is that it’s a very practical final size of the print. 5x7 negatives can be used for contact printing. It’s perceptibly larger than 4x5 for this purpose. This also applies to wet plate and other alternative processes, paper negatives or direct paper positives. 

5x7 also starts to be an option for contact printing and/or wet plate photography.

CCB 57PS has identical features as 8x10 and comes with a tripod mount, leveling bubbles in both orientations and three metal cold shoes on top.

Like other CCB PS cameras, it exhibits exceptional vibration dampening performance.
